I have been a smoothie lover from way back! The only problem that when I’m going into ketosis, I miss them so much!
Never fear though, I’ve created the ultimate green keto smoothie for you to enjoy and make it your go-to keto snack, or even meal replacement!
It’s taken me so long to get this smoothie just the way I like it! Plenty of trial and error with loads of smoothies through in the bin.
Just a word of warning though, it’s VERY green and can take a little to get used to! But, it’s so nourishing and gives you 4 serves of veggies in one smoothie!
The other benefit that I’ve felt when having one of these a day, is that it really helps with sugar cravings. I’m fairly confident it’s the celery in it that really take the sugar cravings down. For this reason, I love having one as a mid-afternoon snack, before those sugar cravings hit!
Let’s get to the recipe.
The Ultimate Green Keto Smoothie
Serves 1
2 handfuls of baby spinach (you can use any greens that you have available but my preferred is baby spinach)
1 celery stalk
1/2 cucumber
Juice of one lemon
1 Tbsp fresh ginger (optional)
4 ice cubes
1 cup water (you can add more or less depending on your preference)
Method
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and buzz.
Enjoy!
There are heaps of extras that you could to the green smoothie, including fresh turmeric, Keto Microgreens, cinnamon, hemp seeds or if you’re wanting to include some fruit it’s great with pineapple, green apple or banana (obviously this will increase your carbohydrate intake but the green smoothie is great with some fruit).
